Celestial Closet creates magical art wearables for fantasy adventurers, cosmic dreamers and nature wanderers!
Owner and magic maker Christine Amanda originally studied digital design at university, and has spent over 10 years dabbling in the worlds of theatre, costume and millinery. She runs Celestial Closet part-time and works in another role full time. In September 2019, Celestial Closet featured on the M.A.D. runway with her "Elementum Mundi" millinery collection.
At the start of 2020, Celestial Closet has taken on an exciting new creative direction, specialising in creating original, limited edition wearable art designs where art meets technology. In 2018, Christine started experimenting with designing a small range of laser cut acrylic earrings, which made their debut at the M.A.D. artisan market in May 2018. Her jewellery designs have evolved over time, exploring the combinations of different materials, and focusing on the creation of more intricate, layered pieces featuring beautiful details. Celestial Closet art wearables bring magic to the everyday, with designs such as potion bottle earrings, and nature inspired earrings and brooches!
Christine is now the proud owner of a small desktop laser cutter, which she has named “Zaphod Beamobox”, which helps with bringing her range of wearable art designs to life. She designs her pieces first doing hand drawn sketches, digitises the sketches in Adobe Illustrator, operates and maintains the laser cutter, does the assembly, painting and production, lovingly packs the orders, and sends magic filled parcels out into the world!
